Lacheteau Winery
The winery is situated in Doue la Fontaine, the
heart of the Loire Valley, near Saumur. The Lacheteau
family has been involved in the wine trade for
three generations and is run today by Andre and
Dominique Lacheteau. Baron Foulon is a line that
was created by Andre Lacheteau for the "price-oriented"
customer. The range offers quality varietal wines
from the Loire Valley and from the Languedoc regions
at an excellent value. In 1992, a new production
unit was built at the winery which complies with
the highest standards of quality. It includes
a pressing room with production capacity of 18,000
hectoliters of wine, a temperature controlled
bulk storage room, a modern bottling line, automatic
riddling in Gyropallets and a temperature controlled
storage for finished products waiting to be shipped.

Baron Foulon Loire Valley
Sauvignon Blanc
The varietal Sauvignon is a typical varietal of
the Loire region of white wines situated in the
eastern part of the Loire valley where the soil
is clayey. Such famous appellations as Sancerre
and Pouilly Fume come from Sauvignon. The color
is pale yellow, the aroma very aromatic and fresh
with a taste that is round, fruity and floral.
Accompanies white meat, fish, and cheese. Serve
chilled.
Chardonnay
The Chardonnay varietal has widespread growth
in France, but this varietal from the Loire region,
is characterized by its freshness and roundness.
In this region it is often blended to make sparkling
wines like Cremant. The color is yellow, the aroma
is aromatic and fresh, and the taste is round
and fruity and rich. Accompanies poultry, fish,
and light cheeses. Serve chilled.
